First time I missed passing my IPPT before the window closed. Do I get charged, fined, or forced into RT? Bit stressed about how serious this is and what to do next.

Relax, this happens to loads of NSmen and it's very manageable. What typically happens if you don't pass IPPT within your window: you'll be booked for RT (Remedial Training), a set number of sessions you must attend and complete within a deadline. It's not a criminal charge or a fine as long as you turn up and finish RT, the issue only becomes serious (chargeable as an offence) if you keep missing RT sessions without valid reason, that's when it can escalate to disciplinary action. Practical steps: log in to the NS portal, check your RT booking status, and book your sessions early so you have buffer. Use the RT sessions to actually train, many people pass IPPT during RT itself because the sessions build you up. If you have a genuine medical issue, see the MO for a possible deferment or RT-Medical. The stress is worse than the reality, just show up and clear it. Also start jogging and doing push-ups now so next cycle you clear the window directly.
Missed my window a couple times, just got put on RT. No fine, no drama, as long as you attend all sessions. Honestly RT got me fitter than trying to cram before the deadline. Book early so you're not scrambling near the RT cutoff sia.
Focus on the 2.4km run, that's where most people lose the points. During RT they'll train you up. You can also attempt IPPT during RT and if you pass you may clear the remaining sessions. Just commit to it and it'll be over before you know it.

The trap isn't failing IPPT, it's ignoring the RT bookings that follow. THAT is what gets people charged. Take the RT seriously, attend everything, and you're completely fine. Set calendar reminders for the sessions and the deadline.
