Integrated Shield Plan
Healthcare
An Integrated Shield Plan is optional private insurance that sits on top of MediShield Life, offered by private insurers. It can extend coverage to higher-class public hospital wards or private hospitals, and typically pays more of the bill than MediShield Life alone. Many people add a rider to further reduce out-of-pocket cash, though riders now usually require some co-payment. Part of the premium can be paid with MediSave up to a limit, but the extra portion must be paid in cash. It is optional and you can hold only one. Plan features and premiums are subject to the latest rules.
