How do you find affordable therapy/counselling in Singapore?

You have more affordable options than the pricey private clinics. What I've used/researched: 1) polyclinic GP referral to a subsidised psychologist at a restructured hospital, means-tested so much cheaper, 2) Family Service Centres (FSCs) offer subsidised or free counselling in your area, 3) some non-profits and community mental health outfits (check the Agency for Integrated Care / CHAT for youth) offer low-cost sessions, 4) your company EAP if you have one, usually a few free confidential sessions, 5) student counselling if you're studying. Steps: start with a polyclinic GP or call the National Care Hotline (1771) to get pointed to the right service. It's not as fast as private but it's real and affordable. Please verify current subsidies and eligibility with the actual providers, as schemes and fees change.
