ERP (Electronic Road Pricing)
Transport
Electronic Road Pricing is Singapore's system of charging motorists to use certain roads and expressways during busy periods to manage traffic congestion. Charges are deducted automatically as you pass a gantry, using a stored-value card or a linked payment method in your vehicle's in-vehicle unit. Rates vary by location, time of day and vehicle type, and are higher when roads are more congested. The system is being upgraded to a satellite-based approach that can charge based on distance and location more flexibly. Charge rates, gantry locations and the system's technology are subject to the latest rules.
